Thanks, Kotaku!

I had a traffic spike like that a few months ago when I got Lifehacker'd (albeit about 1/5th the size.) It felt great at first, but left me with a hollow feeling the rest of the week until my traffic reports started scaling more normally.

Still, congratulations!

You're welcome. :P

@Matthew: It's such a weird feeling, for sure. And kind of disappointing when hardly anybody sticks around. At least most people seemed to get the joke.

To put it in perspective: since I started using Statcounter in mid-December, one-third of my total views came on Sunday and Monday. That's ridiculous.

My last traffic spike came when I made a core group of RPG fans really angry. Interestingly, it was my first dramatic traffic spike to result in a permanent (albeit small) increase in my traffic.

I think my traffic spiked once after getting a mention on Kotaku.com.au for one reason or another, and I notice if I make what I consider a decent comment on some websites, you'll get a decent increase too.
